Tomai Vineyards. TOMAI is located in Southern winemaking region of Moldova. The region is drier than other parts of the country and has a significant portion of sandy and clay soils, which allows for a higher concentration of sugar in the grapes. Red varieties such as Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are popular here. The wines produced in TOMAI are rich, full bodied with concentrated aroma. The region is also famous for Moldova’s best red dessert wines.
Cabernet-Sauvignon is one of the most popular varieties of red grapes. The grapes have a high tannin content. The wines made of cabernet sauvignon grapes are characterized by a full, velvety taste, lots of black fruit characteristics and a spicy finish.
Pinot Noir is considered one of the most unpredictable grape varieties. The wine made of these grapes is characterized by a full bouquet of plum and cherry aromas. As it matures, its taste becomes more harmonious and velvety.
